  • “A Mi-8 helicopter crashed in the Sosnovsky district,” Oleksiy Teksler reported in Telegram.
  • “The helicopter belonged to the aviation unit of the FSB.”
  • “According to preliminary information, three people died,” the governor said.

The local administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia confirmed in Telegram that three bodies were found at the site of the disaster, where the fire was contained.

An emergency services official told state news agency RIA-Novosti that the plane was on a “regular training flight” before it “crashed into the forest,” possibly due to “equipment failure.”

Crashes of planes and helicopters, which are widely used in remote areas of the country, are common in Russia, often caused by bad weather, pilot error or technical problems.
