Britain’s National Air Traffic Service said it was experiencing “technical issues” and had “implemented traffic restrictions to ensure safety”.

“Engineers are working on finding and eliminating the malfunction. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the agency said, without providing further details on what caused the outage or how long it would take to fix it.

Earlier, Scottish airline Loganair announced on the social platform X, formerly Twitter, that there had been a failure in the UK air traffic control system, warning that some flights could face delays.

Passengers are encouraged to inquire about possible delays or delays with departure airlines or airports.
