Canoeists Ilye Sprintsyan and Oleg Nutse qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris, taking 6th place in the final of the 500-meter canoe double at the World Canoe Rowing Championships in Duisburg (Germany).

Ilye Spryntsyan and Oleg Nutse qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris-2024

Germany, China and Spain climbed the podium.

The Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee reports that “Ilie and Oleg started canoeing in the Republic of Moldova and left home after winning European and World Junior medals for the Republic of Moldova.”

The Romanian delegation won three medals at the 2023 World Championships: gold (Katelin Cirila in the 500 m single canoe), silver (Katelin Cirila in the 1000 m single canoe) and bronze (Ili Sprincan and Oleg Nutse in the double canoe 1000 m).
