Four people injured in the explosions in Crevedia have been transferred abroad, and another transfer will be made today and possibly tomorrow, the head of the emergency department, Raed Arafat, said on Sunday morning.

“We handed over four firefighters in serious condition and two civilians. There will be another broadcast today. Different countries provided us with places. It is possible that there will be transfers tomorrow as well,” Arafat said.

In addition to bilateral negotiations with Belgium, Italy and three other countries, we are conducting negotiations with Norway, Germany and even Bulgaria through the European mechanism, he added.

Regarding the seriously injured, he specified that “in the protocols, there is no transfer of patients with burns over 80% of the body surface… there are not many of them in this situation, one or two, as far as I know.”

Regarding the gas station where the explosions took place, the head of the DSU noted that it “clearly did not have permits or authorization to work” and that “as far as is known, the enterprise was not operating.”

“We know that the company was at least no longer operating or clearly no longer had permits or approvals. It is obvious that from our point of view the company had neither documents nor permission to operate. Usually the company was not actually working,” said Raed Arafat.
