
A drunken man driving a boat on the Danube collided with an anchored barge, injuring five people and damaging two vessels, Agerpres reports.
On Sunday morning, 112 was reported to the police of the Transport Police Service of Kalarash County that a boat with five people was drifting on the Danube River at km 373 in the Kichiu district.
According to the IPJ Călăraşi press release sent to AGERPRES, initial investigations showed that the boat in question collided with a barge anchored on the river.
The operative group, which went to the scene, occupied and transported five victims for medical assistance.
The driver of the boat was tested with a breathalyzer, 0.16 mg/l of alcohol was found in the exhaled air. He was also tested with a DrugTest device and the result was negative.
Criminal proceedings have been opened in the case on the grounds of intentional bodily harm.
