A man from Kalafat Municipality, Dolj District, has been preliminarily arrested on charges of insult and failure to keep weapons and ammunition after he said live on Facebook that he had a gun with which he intended to kill a police officer.
“On the morning of August 18 of this year, the policemen of the Calafat municipality, together with the soldiers of the Dolj Special Operations Service, conducted three search warrants on houses in the Calafat municipality. The activity took place within the framework of criminal proceedings in the office of the prosecutor’s office at the Kalafat court, in which investigations are conducted on the grounds of the commission of offensive crimes and non-compliance with the regime of storage of weapons and ammunition. In fact, a 44-year-old resident of the area is suspected of having threatened to kill a police officer from the Calafat Municipal Police on the evening of July 25 through a social network. During the searches, a gun was found in one of the buildings, which was seized for examination, the 44-year-old man was taken to the hearing,” IPJ Dolj reported on Saturday, citing News. ro.
According to some judicial sources cited by News.ro, the weapons found during the searches are subject to examination to determine whether they are lethal.
The same sources clarified that the policeman who was threatened was part of a crew that tried to stop a drunk driver without a driver’s license on the road in the municipality of Calafat on the evening of July 25.
After the chase, the driver was pulled over, refused to show his ID, and one of the two passengers became unruly and was shot.
The policeman is threatening, who at that moment fired one shot in the vertical plane and two more shots at the legs of the aggressor.
However, the investigation, which began with the Facebook broadcast, revealed that the 44-year-old man was not in the car stopped by the police crew on July 25.
Therefore, during the checks, it will be established whether there is a connection between the person who threatened the policeman and the three men.
