A new video showing a Ukrainian strike on Russian armored vehicles has sparked mockery from netizens after Moscow’s military was lifted tens of meters into the air by an explosion.

The footage appears to show a Russian armored vehicle with several soldiers on it, although even the first few seconds of the footage are not very clear. But what happens after the car hits doesn’t leave much room for interpretation.

“Russian soldiers are now enlisting on the moon,” ironically note the administrators of the Ukraine Battle Map page, apparently referring to the fact that last week Russia sent its first space probe to the moon in nearly half a century.

Some netizens directly referenced this, saying that the crew of the Russian armored vehicle “took the face” of the Luna-25 mission. “Legend says that he left the military system and is heading there [galaxia] Andromeda,” added another Twitter user, referring to one of the Russian military.

Some also wondered if the Russian crew could walk through a mine planted by their own army, as has happened in other situations. Although this possibility cannot be ruled out, the catastrophic explosion of a combat vehicle most likely indicates a hit from a launcher or an anti-tank gun.

Unfortunately, pictures taken from a drone from a fairly long distance are not very instructive in this regard.

Ironically, the footage appears to have surfaced on social media on the same day that Russian media reported that an analysis by the Moscow-based Research Institute of Steel concluded that US Bradley infantry fighting vehicles are “much weaker” than Russian armored personnel carriers -3.

Several officials of the institute, quoted by the Russian mass media, assured that after receiving the latest “dynamic protection” armor, the BMP-3 vehicles adopted by the Soviet armed forces in 1987 will also be able to withstand being hit by anti-tank missiles.
