The first leg of the new season in the Premier League brought a derby between Chelsea and Liverpool, two teams that disappointed in the last championship, and the result was fair – 1:1.

Liverpool started the better game at Stamford Bridge and Colombian Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the 18th minute, striking from inside the penalty area after an excellent pass from Salah.

The visitors could have doubled their lead in the 29th minute, but Mohamed Salah’s goal was disallowed by VAR for offside.

However, the odds took their revenge and Chelsea equalized in the 37th minute when Axel Diazi finished off Chilwell’s header from a free-kick.

Ben Chilwell also scored two minutes later, which was also disallowed by VAR, also for offside.

The second half saw little change on the scoreboard and Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp’s sides will be hoping to surpass last season’s performance.
