Two teenagers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were wanted throughout Europe, the prosecutor’s office in the southern Austrian city of Graz said on Friday.

They were wanted on suspicion of attempted murder after they left a restaurant without paying the bill and then hit the restaurant owner with their car, according to police.

The Graz prosecutor’s office confirmed the arrest of the two on Saturday at a gas station in Croatia.

The 41-year-old owner of a sushi restaurant in Linz stood in the way of two teenagers on Wednesday night as they tried to leave without paying and was hit by the SUV they were in.

The woman suffered a fractured pelvis and injuries to her stomach and lungs, her son told public broadcaster ORF.

The incident was filmed by a surveillance camera.

After checking the license plates, the police found out that the owner of the car is the teenager’s mother, who lives in Graz.

In Austria, teenagers can get a driver’s license at the age of 17. However, the police believe that a 16-year-old girl was driving the vehicle.
