On Monday, Travis Scott held a concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome to promote his fourth album, Utopia (2023). During the performance, the audience was surprised to see the rapper joined on stage by Kanye West, now known as Ye. Together, the two artists have created covers of some of the most successful songs in the world.

The duo sang “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” (Graduation, 2007) and “Praises of God” (Donda, 2021), reports news.ro.

“There is no Utopia without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. No Rome without Kanye West,” Travis Scott chanted to the crowd before Ye took the stage.

This is Kanye West’s first live appearance since making a series of anti-Semitic statements in the fall of 2022.

After his statement, Ye’s profiles were banned in some social networks. However, his account on Platform X, formerly Twitter, was recently reinstated at Elon Musk’s request.

The American rapper also lost a series of partnership contracts with Balenciaga, Gap and Adidas.

Original concert, postponed

Travis Scott was originally scheduled to perform “Utopia” on its release date, July 28, at a show at the Pyramids of Giza.

In the end, the concert was canceled two days before the scheduled date due to “production problems”.

He announced on his official website that he is planning another meeting “very soon” in Pompeii, Italy.

Finally, thousands of fans flocked to the Circus Maximus, once the largest chariot racing track in the Roman Empire.
