CSA Steaua opened the new Ligue 2 season, in which it is currently ineligible for promotion, by drawing 1-1 at Chindia Târgoviște, a team relegated from the SuperLigă.

The game at the new stadium in Tirgovishte started worse for Daniel Opritsi’s pupils.

In the 1st minute, Beca fouled Robert Moldovianu in the penalty area, and Dambovici’s striker opened the scoring from a free kick.

In the first half, moments alternated between both goals, but the score did not change at halftime.

Chindia also put the ball in the net in the second half, but the Moldovan’s goal in the 52nd minute was disallowed for offside.

After a festival of misses, the red and blue managed to equalize in the seventh minute of overtime thanks to last season’s top scorer Bohdan Chipirliu.
