FC Brasov remains without players and management – the team will play in the Romanian Cup tomorrow

Less than 24 hours after the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, 15 players have already terminated their contracts with FC Brasov and can sign with other teams.

In a statement published on the official website, the “flags” specify that the fault for not receiving a license is collective, and the management will submit a statement of resignation.

The team will appear in tomorrow’s Romanian Cup match against the juniors, but the club is currently not clarifying the situation of coach Dan Alexa and his staff.

“Currently, the situation is difficult. The players were informed of the decision, and in less than 24 hours, 15 of them had already signed papers terminating their contracts. They can sign a contract with any other club. We thank them for everything they have done for our club and wish them every success.

Let’s return to licensing issues. Because of the way the licensing file was designed and presented, we ended up in this situation. So we’re talking about form issues. The situation is all the more disappointing because FC Brasov actually had no financial problems. Wages were current, there were no disputes with players or other members of the club. The club has also secured funding for the 2023-2024 League 2 season and is considering promotion to League One.

Who is to blame? This is the collective fault of everyone in the club’s management. Under these conditions, all managers with current contracts will resign.

FC Brasov will appear at tomorrow’s Romanian Cup match. He will play with a team that consists mainly of juniors. It is normal when one of the official football competitions is celebrated in Romania.

Reorganizations and decisions about the future of the club will follow. It is important to know that in recent years, FC Brasov managed to develop a children’s and junior academy, which produces results. It can become an important breeding ground for both Brasov and national football. We are talking about almost 300 children and juniors who must continue their activities,” FC Brasov reported.
