Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports continued on Thursday after Moscow warned the day before that ships bound for Ukrainian Black Sea ports could be considered military targets, Reuters reported, according to News.ro.

As concerns grow over Russia’s withdrawal from a deal that protected Ukrainian grain supplies, authorities in the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions said Thursday that at least 20 people were injured in new strikes by Moscow overnight.

At least 18 people were wounded in an attack on the port city of Mykolaiv early Thursday, the regional governor said, while an official in Odesa said two people were hospitalized after another strike caused a fire.

Of the 18 victims in Mykolaiv, nine were taken to the hospital, including five children, Governor Vitaly Kim said. As a result of shelling, the city center was damaged, a three-story apartment building and a garage were set on fire, the governor said. He said that it is possible that there are casualties.

Ukraine declares that it has established a temporary route for the transportation of its grain through the territorial waters of Romania

After Russia terminated the agreement on the export of Ukrainian grain through Black Sea ports, Ukraine announced the creation of a “grain corridor” through the territorial waters of Romania and Bulgaria, Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said.

Also, in an official letter from the Kyiv government, seen by Reuters on Wednesday, it is said that Ukraine is currently working on establishing a temporary shipping route through Romanian territorial waters.

The deal, brokered by the UN and Turkey last July, helps Ukraine export grain across the Black Sea from three ports using a safe corridor.
