Marketa Vondrousova will climb to the 10th position of the WTA after the success with Ons Jabert

After losing in the Roland Garros final in 2019, Marketa Vondrousova (42 WTA) finally won the first Grand Slam title of her career.

The Czech won the final of the Wimbledon tournament against Ons Jabert (6 WTA), after a match in which Vondrousova played quality tennis.

With her triumph at Wimbledon, Marketa Vondrousova became the first unseeded player in the open era to win a Grand Slam title.

In addition, the Czech is the shortest player to win the trophy at Wimbledon since the WTA rankings were introduced.

At the end of the dispute, Vondrousova made the first conclusions after the final at the All England Club.

“I don’t know what’s happening now, it’s an incredible feeling. I want to congratulate Ons, she is a wonderful person and a fantastic player. I hope he wins at some point here because he deserves it.

I’ve been through so much in my career and I’m so happy to be here with the cup in my hands. This is madness.

Last year I was a tourist in London, then I played in small tournaments, ITF tournaments. I was hoping to be able to get back to that level and now my dream has come true.

Tomorrow is our first wedding anniversary. I am so happy that close people are near me. I know it’s been an exhausting two weeks for everyone, but I couldn’t have done it without their help.

I made a bet with my coach, he promised me that if I won a Grand Slam, he would get a tattoo too. I think we will go tomorrow and mark this moment on our skin.” – passed it on.

Thanks to the victory in the Wimbledon final with Ons Jabert, Marketa Vondrousova will rise to the 10th place in the WTA ranking from Monday.

The player from the Czech Republic is the seventh different champion in the last 7 years in a row at Wimbledon.
