A 50-year-old man who shot and killed a 21-year-old man in Wama Weke on Friday night claims the gun went off accidentally. Law enforcement officers said he had a 9 mm caliber weapon, which he legally possesses. The man will undergo a neuropsychological examination, News.ro reports.

The Constanza District Police Inspector has announced that police have continued their investigation following an incident on Friday night in Wama Veke, where a 21-year-old man was shot in the leg by a 50-year-old man.

“The weapon used by the said person was seized from the scene, namely a lethal weapon of caliber 9×19 mm, which he legally possesses. The man stated that due to alcohol consumption and some disagreements with other people at the campsite, he would accidentally activate the gun. The man was taken to the Palazu Mare psychiatric clinic for a neuropsychological examination,” IPJ ConstanÅ£a reports.

The police opened criminal proceedings for intentional bodily harm, illegal use of combat weapons, violation of public order and threats.

In order to establish all the factual circumstances and take the necessary measures, the police officers of the Weapons and Explosives Protection Department continue their investigative actions.

On Friday evening, after the incident, the 21-year-old boy was taken to the hospital. A 50-year-old man threatened to commit suicide, and the police were called.

In the end, the man was persuaded to surrender the weapon to the police, being immobilized.
