The resignation comes ten days after investigators raided the Voluntary and Afumac asylums of horrors, and after numerous revelations about Gabriela Firea’s ties to Stefan Godei, the patron of two homes for the elderly.

Stefan Godey was hired by Gabriela Firea in the senator’s office from January 2021 to February 2023, after previously working at the capital city hall, according to documents released to the press.

In other words, Godey worked directly with Gabriela Firea as a driver hired by her parliamentary office after the 2020 parliamentary elections.
