As judicial sources told HotNews.ro, Dumitru Barabula, the head of the Voluntary Police of the city, which was run by Mayor Florentin Pandele for 23 years and where two asylums of horrors operated, has resigned. Also in this scandal, Ilfov police chief Christian Pershinaru and his two deputies, Stefan Frunceanu and Gabriela Baicu, resigned.
According to sources cited, the head of the Volunteer Police tendered his resignation on Wednesday.
The leadership of the Ilfov police also resigned, and it will be determined to which positions the three chiefs who resigned will be transferred. It is about the chief inspector Christian Pershinara and his two deputies Štefan Frunzeana and Gabriela Baika.
It will be recalled that there was no resignation from the top in the whole scandal over the incredible abuse suffered by the elderly and disabled patients at the three shelters in Voluntari and Afumaka.
The head of the Ilfov Health Department, Theodore Gabriel Negulescu, was the only one to resign until Tuesday and Wednesday when he was fired from the Ilfov police force. Also, the president of the National Administration for the Protection of the Rights of People with Disabilities, Mihai Tomescu, the vice-president of the institution, Adela Krachun, and the general director of the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection, Kristina Elena Anton, were dismissed.
Labor Minister Marius Budai said that his resignation in connection with the scandal regarding the horror shelters in Ilfov is “irrelevant”. After the journalist came back and asked him if he had even thought for a second about resigning, Marius Budai replied curtly: “Thank you very much for the question.”
