“Rescuers pulled out the bodies of three people without signs of life from under the rubble. The number of dead has increased to seven,” the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported in Telegram.

In addition, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported 13 wounded as a result of this explosion, which, according to the governor of the region Yuriy Malashko, hit “a humanitarian aid distribution point in a residential area.”

The strike happened around 1:20 p.m. (10:20 GMT) on Sunday, the prosecutor said in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the attack was carried out on the college “at a time when humanitarian aid was coming to civilians.”

“The aerial bomb completely destroyed the building,” the ministry said on Telegram, adding that nearby residential areas and civilian infrastructure were also damaged.

Photos have been released showing the damage, showing a completely destroyed one-story brick building surrounded by many broken beams and debris.

The town of Orihiv, which had about 14,000 residents before the war, is located in Zaporizhia Oblast, one of four Ukrainian territories claimed by Russia in its 2022 annexation, although its army does not fully control them.

This settlement is located near the front line, where Ukrainian troops have been trying to seize some heavily fortified positions from Russian troops since the beginning of June.
