“The European Commission looks at Romania much more leniently than in previous years. They need Romania. In reports, for example, we are doing well, but in spending money we will have problems. But those officials who analyze the PNRR will not give in to special pensions in the third part and the reduction of public spending,” Korina Kretsu said, according to News.ro.

She emphasized that Romania could agree on some aspects of the PNRR by May.

The MEP emphasized that Romania is at the average European level in terms of the amount allocated “on paper”, but “among the last” among European countries in terms of actually spent funds.

The former European Commissioner clarified that he contacted Prime Minister Marcel Čolaku after he took office and told him that he was at his disposal with the experience he had in the European Commission, just as he was ready to help any -any other Romanian government in its efforts to access European funds.
