3.7 million lei was won by Stefan Godei from the “horror asylums”, the man who controlled the association “St. Gabriel the Brave”, which was caught by the investigation, under the coordination of which elderly and disabled people were beaten, left hungry, with worms, in incredible misery.

According to DIICOT prosecutors, Stefan Godey spent the money he earned on prostitutes, drugs and violinists, spending €5,000 in one night, Digi24 reports.

The social assistance offices, including those in Ilfov, Sector 3 and Sector 6, demanded almost 4 million lei, money that should have been used for the care and feeding of beneficiaries in the centers they controlled, but prosecutors found that people endured incredible conditions.

Godey also invested in real estate, in the capital and in the county of Jalomitsa.

The rest of the money was invested in real estate. “At the same time, it was established that he recently built a house for himself on the street (…), sector 1, Bucharest and owns an agricultural land of 1.5 hectares in the village (…), commune (. ..), Jalomitsa county,” according to the same source.

Investigators found that between November 2021 and June 2023, the organized crime group led by Godey collected 3,763,869 lei, with the largest amounts coming from Sector 3 DGASPC (2,550,574 lei) and DGASPC Ilfov (1,178,233 lei).

Godei headed the Association of St. Gabriel the Brave, through which he controlled a business where he starved people to make huge profits, where Gabriela Firea’s advisor Ligia Gheorghe (formerly Enake) was vice president.

Lygia Enake claimed that she helped Godea to establish the association, but she is not listed as a founding member, and that she resigned in 2022, but the association’s status changes occurred in 2023.

Ligia Gheorghe was called as a witness and on Friday she was temporarily suspended from her position as an adviser in the Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities, headed by Gabriele Firea, with whom she worked for many years when Firea was at Intact Media Group, which operates the antennas.
