Simona Halep will receive an answer in a maximum of 14 days, ANAD reports
After several delays in her positive test case at the 2022 US Open, Simona Halep has found herself in London, where the people at Sport Resolutions are handling her case.
The Romanian was listened to for several days, and the National Anti-Doping Agency, in the person of the director Gabriela Andreyasu, emphasized that the double winner of the Grand Slam tournaments will receive a verdict in a maximum of 14 days.
ANAD attended Simona’s hearing on 29 and 29 June 2023 at the invitation of the International Tennis Integrity Agency.
“The hearings took place for several hours, every day. Enough hours for each side to explain why they are accused or why Simona is defending herself, how and with what evidence.
And the arbitrators had the opportunity to ask each side and receive answers in order to judge and make an informed and fair decision.
Each side had the right to involve experts, witnesses from various branches of science, both from the analytical side, biologists, biochemists, hematologists, and from the legal side. We can only say that both parties, as well as the arbitrators, had an impeccable attitude, showed professionalism, independence, and everything was resolved in an extraordinary way.
We expect a period of at least 14 days because that is what is stipulated in the ITIA Sporting Resolutions and Rules.” – reports ANAD, reports Euronews Romania.
