Spain and Israel reached the semi-finals of the final tournament of the European Under-21 Championship on Saturday, beating Switzerland and Georgia, it was announced in the groups.

After two wins and a draw in the Romanian group, Spain had a difficult mission in the quarters against Switzerland.

The match at Giulesti Stadium was balanced, despite several opportunities from the Iberian side.

Manchester City midfielder Sergio Gomez opened the scoring in the 68th minute, but Switzerland equalized in the first minute of added time thanks to Zeki Amduna.

In extra time, the Spaniards scored a qualifying goal thanks to Juan Miranda in the 103rd minute.

In the semi-finals, Spain will meet the winner of the competition between France and Ukraine.

Georgia – Israel 0-0 (3-4, after penalties), quarter-finals of the European Championship-2023

Qualified from first place in a group with Portugal, Holland and Belgium, Georgia failed to produce a miracle in front of their own fans.

After 120 minutes with no goals scored, Israel won on penalties after two missed conversions by Georgian players.

Israel will meet the winner of England and Portugal in the semi-finals.
