Romania’s women’s team won the gold medals at the 2023 European Games in Krakow-Maspoli on Saturday, defeating Germany 3-2 in the women’s table tennis final.

After a spectacular semi-final in which they beat France 3-1, the tricolors finished top after defeating Germany in the final.

Bernadette Shox, Adina Diaconu, Andrea Dragoman brought the tricolor delegation the sixth gold. With Eliza Samara out of the match with a fibrillary tear in her left tricep, Viorel Filimon’s girls proved they are THE TEAM.

With difficulty, they rallied and kept calm, patiently building a great victory. Doubles wins, a magic point from Bernadette, a great performance from Andrea Dragoman with attitude, a try from Adina Diacono and finally Bernie put the icing on the European gold.

So far, Romania has won gold (Bernadette Shox) and bronze (Elisabetta Samara) medals in women’s singles table tennis and a bronze medal in mixed doubles (Bernadette Shox/Ovidiu Ionescu).
