For the past 3 seasons, Super League teams have been required to use at least one player under the age of 21 during matches. The rule remained in place for the 2023/24 season and the FCSB financier reacted badly to both the federation and the clubs who voted to keep the rule.

Angel Iordenescu suggests using two players under the age of 21 in the Super League

Angel Iordanescu, the former selector of the Romanian national football team, intervened in the scandal involving the use of a player under the age of 21 at Super League matches.

The General Assembly supported the retention of this rule and the clubs overwhelmingly voted to retain this requirement for Super League matches.

Gigi Becali, the financier of the FCSB team, opposes this rule and has made inappropriate accusations against the Romanian Football Federation, but especially against clubs led by Rapid Bucharest.

The people of Giulesti also offered their reactions to Gigi Becali’s failed exit, and Angel Iordanescu recently stepped in and offered a solution/opinion on the controversy.

“If I wasn’t the president of the club or the coach, if I was the president of the FRF, I would put two U21 players. One would impose, and the second was awarded. The club that used the second player received a hefty incentive prize. I am convinced that it was better than bringing a stranger who steals his eyes.

How can this happen in Hagi and not in other teams? There are many who invest in football, why if you have young players and they have potential, why don’t you use them? He imposed one, and rewarded the other.

I claim that our teams should have strong children’s and junior centers. At the moment, we have many cons. Romanian football needs money, without money you cannot perform.” – said Angel Iordanescu, reports Digi Sport.
