A double murder took place in Timisoara on Tuesday evening. In the apartment, two elderly people were attacked by an unknown person, and the suspect was found at home by their nephew, who came to check what happened. He, in turn, was wounded with a knife. The police are now looking for the criminal, as criminal proceedings have been opened for qualified murder, News.ro reports.

Two people, 75 and 78 years old, who live in the center of Timişoara, next to the Timișoara court, and who were on the phone with their nephew from Germany on Tuesday evening, heard a noise in the apartment and told the nephew that someone had entered their place, then the phone call ended .

The nephew immediately called his cousin, who lives in Timişoara, and he hurriedly went to his grandparents. When he entered the apartment, he found two old men dead, but he also came across the person who attacked them.

The criminal managed to injure the old man’s nephew with a knife before fleeing.

“On June 27, 2023, around 10:30 p.m., the police of the 1st Division of Timisoara were informed that a man found his deceased grandparents (a 75-year-old man) in a building on Cepes Voda Square in Timisoara. and a 78-year-old woman), and in the apartment he surprised an unknown person who ran away,” IPJ Timiş reported.

The police are now looking for the perpetrator and have opened criminal proceedings for qualified murder.

“The police are conducting investigative actions with the aim of searching for the person and establishing all the circumstances under which this unfortunate event took place. A criminal case has been filed for the crime of qualified murder, the investigation continues under the leadership of the prosecutor of the Timiş court,” IPJ Timiş also said.
