“I am the president of the AUR, our Congress has been confirmed by a final and irrevocable decision,” said George Simion after decision of the Bucharest Court invalidated the protocol on his election as the president of the political entity.

George Simion qualified Cyprian Chubuk’s statements as “an aberration, like dozens of news stories that have appeared about us recently, because in real polls we have equaled PSD.”

Deputy Ciprian Chubuk, expelled from the AUR at the formation congress in 2022, said that the Bucharest court restored his membership in this party and decided to annul the results of the congress at which George Simion was elected president of the AUR. The court decision is not final.

“He accepts the request in part as stated. Cancel Decision No. 10/30.03.2022 of the National Jury of Honor, Discipline and Arbitration of the Alliance Party for the Union of Romanians. Cancels the protocol of the extraordinary congress of the Alliance Party for the Union of Romanians dated 03/27/2022. He orders the defendant to pay an amount of 2,200 lei as court costs, which are court stamp duty and attorney’s fees. With a right of appeal within 30 days from the notification, the appeal request is submitted to the Bucharest Court. Pronounced today, 06/22/2023, by providing the parties with a decision through the intervention of the court office,” reads the minutes of the Bucharest Court.

Ciprian Chubuk explained the decision of the Bucharest Court on his Facebook page.

“In particular, the court on the first part of the claim annulled the Decision of the National Jury of Honor, Discipline and Arbitration dated 10/30.03.2022, by which I was illegally expelled from the party, thus renewing me through temporary punishment as a member of the AUR party and proving the fact that that the party with which I entered the Romanian Parliament as a Member of Parliament for Breila committed abuses by expelling me without reason and not giving me the opportunity to present my arguments in defense as established in the AUR. On the other hand, the court also concluded on the second part of the request that I had a good case, and thus, based on the legal arguments and documents submitted to the case by both me and the defendant, it won my case and the Court’s Decision of cancellation of the oral proceedings of March 27, 2022, the results of the extraordinary congress of March 27, 2022 are canceled,” the deputy noted.

He claimed that all the results of the AUR congress were confirmed by this court annulled protocol, from the election of George Simeon as the party chairman to the election of the National Leadership Council and the National Leadership Bureau.
