Yesterday evening and this morning, hundreds of people lined up near the kindergartens of Sector 3, where the “Summer Kindergarten” program operates. Parents have been queuing up and forming queues since yesterday evening, despairing that they will not be able to get a seat and have nothing to do with their children in the summer. Mayor Robert Negoitse says that the city hall does not deal with registration, but the school inspectorate, the city hall only funds the program and has provided enough seats. The mayor visited one of the kindergartens to talk with the parents and assured that he would add more places if necessary.

“Yesterday evening at nine o’clock there were 80 people in school 88… We are in 2023 and we are standing in lines, with folders with rails in our hands. The Ministry blames the City Hall, the City Hall blames the Ministry. Why didn’t you bring in local police crews to maintain order? Yesterday evening, the deputy mayor came to the schools. Of course, we do, we fix, and that’s what we’re left with… Register online if you still want upgrades,” a citizen wrote on Mayor Robert Negojets’ Facebook page.

“I came to Kindergarten 88 at 6 in the morning and was number 230 on the list made by my parents… We have been in Kindergarten 88 for 2 years, but I don’t think we will get a place for the summer. “, another parent wrote.

“In Greerash, the line has been lined up since yesterday evening, so we who came in the morning are theoretically sitting for nothing. The list at the gate has already exceeded the number of available seats. During last year’s online registration, early applications were not received, with physical presence it seems possible,” another parent writes.

“It is very bad what is happening now in Grădinita no. 196. 180 places have been secured, 300 parents are waiting,” another parent wrote.

“So many new bodies have been discovered, why didn’t you leave the summer garden for each one separately? Staff rotation? Has anyone thought about the kids that this change is hard? In adulthood, when we change jobs, it is more difficult for us to adapt, but for them? Is there really no solution other than a standard railway file? We have services where you can’t even be late, let alone 2 and a half months off,” wrote another parent.

“It’s like in communist times when people stood in lines for food, now we stand in lines so that children have access to education, care, so that we parents can go to work, so that we can pay taxes. to the state And above all, the state takes almost half of the salary. So where is the help,” wrote another parent.

Mayor Robert Negoitse wrote on his Facebook page that the mayor’s office only finances the program and does not deal with registration, but there will be enough places.

  • “Several citizens contacted me about the fact that in some educational institutions that run the program of summer kindergartens financed by the City Hall of the 3rd district, parents are standing in lines to register tomorrow morning.
  • Sector 3 City Hall provides funding for this program to support parents who are unable to take time off during the summer holidays, as we have been able to do every year.
  • The registration method is established and carried out by educational units and the school inspectorate. Yes, we would like it to be online, as it was when we were dealing with kindergartens, but the decision and organization depends on the educational institutions.
  • The number of places was determined based on the estimates of the units and the inspection, based on the results of discussions with parents. Of course, depending on requests, we are considering increasing their number if necessary. But at the moment we are discussing almost 1,500 places for the summer in pre-schools and pre-schools, so there are places in several kindergartens and nurseries,” Negojce wrote.

He says parents have nothing to worry about.

“I understand parents’ concerns, but I don’t think they have reason to worry, especially since we have never had a problem with these summer programs in any year,” the mayor wrote.
