Romania needs real and lasting changes. The recent rotation of prime ministers is nothing more than a continuation of the same government that in the last year and a half brought us the highest price increase in the last 20 years, a general strike in education and non-adherence to the Schengen zone.

The fact that PSD and PNL are no longer distinguishable from each other, the need for an alternative is imperative.

Therefore, my colleagues from the USR gave me the mandate to build a right-wing pole that would unite all the forces that want a fair, prosperous and European society.

In the coming months, we will hold discussions with parties, politicians, public organizations, entrepreneurs and academics. Our goal is to unite right-wing forces into a single movement strong enough to win the elections, reform the state and guarantee Romania’s European destiny.

We know it can be done. Whenever the European future of our country was threatened, people who wanted change united and won.

Now it’s our turn to do it. Let’s assume that we will change the wrong path that our country has taken today, and will not succumb to either the corrupt government or Russophile extremism.

Romania has an extraordinary chance to close the gap with the developed countries of the West, and this chance is the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. This is the biggest reform plan since 1989.

There are 28 billion euros that the USR received for the modernization of schools, the construction of new hospitals, the completion of highways and the development of local communities. These are reforms that rebuild the Romanian state and put society on the right footing with the same rules for everyone.

The PNRR is the country’s real plan and will be the basis of our program to manage and curtail right-wing forces.

Next year, for the first time in 20 years, we will also elect our mayors and local councils, MPs and representatives in the European Parliament and a new president in the same year. All these elections will decide who will rule Romania for years to come and determine what our future will be like.

I believe that Romania can make a leap towards a modern and European society, and I invite everyone who wants to build change to join USR.
