
The Taliban cabinet decided on Saturday that August 31, the day when the last American soldier left Afghanistan in 2021, should be a national holiday, writes DPA.
In a statement from the administration office of the prime minister of the Taliban, it is stated that the Cabinet of Ministers decided to consider this day as a holiday in the official calendar.
US Army Major General Chris Donahue became the last American soldier to leave Kabul Airport at midnight on August 30, 2021.
