Camila Giorgi, Angelina Kalinina and Magda Lynette eliminated in the 1/8 finals of WTA Nottingham

Thursday brought the elimination of three favorites from the 1/8 finals of the WTA Nottingham tournament.

Camila Giorgi (47 WTA), the seventh seed, was defeated in the round of 16 by Elizabeth Mandlik (110 WTA) at the end of the match, which lasted two hours and 27 minutes.

The player from the United States of America won the match in 3 sets with the score 7-5, 5-7, 6-3.

On the same day, Ukrainian Angelina Kalinin (No. 5 seed, 25 WTA) was eliminated by Harriet Dart (143 WTA) 6-0, 7-5.

Also on Thursday, Magda Lynette (21 WTA), WTA Nottingham’s third favorite, also lost in the round of 16. The Pole lost in two sets to Jodia Burrage (131 WTA), at the end of the match, which ended in one hour and 36 minutes.

The Rothesay Open in Nottingham is part of the WTA 250 and runs from June 12-18 on grass and offers a total prize pool of $259,303. The titular champion (since 2022) is Beatrice Haddad Maia. The tournament is preparatory to Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the season (July 3-16).
