Fourth-seeded Vekic started the first set of the second round in Nottingham hesitantly and the Swiss took full advantage.
The second set was completely at the discretion of Viktoria Golubic, who played her part and conceded only one game to Donna Vekic.
The game lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
In the third round, Victoria Golubich will meet the winner of the match between Tetyana Maria (66 WTA) and Heather Watson (195 WTA).
The Rothesay Open in Nottingham is part of the WTA 250 and runs from June 12-18 on grass and offers a total prize pool of $259,303. The titular champion (since 2022) is Beatrice Haddad Maia. The tournament is preparatory to Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam tournament of the season (July 3-16).
