The decision specifically states that all industrial, handicraft and trade enterprises, holding companies and enterprises of the private sector, as well as those that usually employ personnel and belong to the private sector, are obliged to provide their employees with special leave with pay until they contribute to the exercise of election rights in election time June 25, 2023.
The number of vacation days that cover the absolutely necessary time for employees to travel to the place of exercising their suffrage and return, is defined as follows:
A. For workers with a six-day working regime:
a) Those who leave for 100-200 kilometers are given one working day of vacation.
b) Those who move 201-400 kilometers are granted leave of two working days.
c) Those traveling a distance of 401 km or more are granted a permit for three working days if they are traveling by road, based on their responsible declaration.
d) For those traveling to and from islands to which there is no access road, the number of vacation days granted will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the distance and special conditions of the trip, without, however, the vacation in these cases must exceed three working days .
B. For employees with a five-day work week:
a) Those who leave for 200-400 kilometers are given one working day of vacation.
b) Those who travel a distance of 401 km or more are granted leave of two working days if they are traveling by road, based on their responsible application.
c) For those traveling to and from islands to which there are no access roads, the number of vacation days granted will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the distance and special conditions of the trip, without, however, the vacation in these cases must exceed three working days .
* For these employees, Sunday 25 June 2023, voting day, is a working day, is considered a special leave with pay, in addition to the above.
Finally, it is noted that special leave for exercising the right to vote does not count towards annual paid leave.
