
The gang, accused of burglaries from houses in areas of North East Attica, was liquidated by the Oropou security department.
In particular, according to EL.AS, on Tuesday, June 6, shortly after the robbery of the house in the Hippocrates Police, DIAS police officers detained three men aged 20, 21 and 56 as members of a criminal organization. The detainees are charged with aggravated theft by complicity and continued, committed and attempted.
The DIAS police considered the vehicle the defendants were driving to be suspicious in the Kifisia area and signaled them to stop for a check. However, the driver of the vehicle accelerated, the police pursued him and a little later immobilized him on the Kaliftaki bridge.
A lot of jewelry, 8 watches, 2 cameras and 3 mobile phones were found and confiscated in the car and from the detainees.
The accused were taken to the Oropou security department, where it was determined that the items had been stolen the same day from a home in the Hippocrates region. It is noted that during the pursuit, they threw out part of the loot from the car.
As it became known from the preliminary investigation, since January 2023, the defendants have committed a total of 10 thefts from houses in Ippokratio Politia, Afidnes, Polidendri, Oropo, Kapandriti and Nea Makri.
The arrested were taken to the district attorney of Athens, the police investigation continues.
