Sanitas is threatening to launch a general strike at the end of June

Sanitas, the other major union federation in the healthcare system, has already announced a separate protest calendar from Sanitary Solidarity.

In Japan, on Wednesday, June 7, the Sanitas trade union went on strike – they work with white armbands.

A Japanese strike has been announced by Sanitas for June 7-15, and at the end of June the unions will go on a general strike if the government does not implement the already negotiated solutions to their demands.

On the other hand, the Government announced last week after a meeting with the unions that it had found a solution to the main demands of the health union activists, but they gave the executive until June 15 to implement these solutions, otherwise, they say that will start a general strike at the end of June.

Rafila: We are trying to find a solution so that the question of a general strike does not arise

Health Minister Alexandru Rafila said on Wednesday that they are trying to find a solution so that the question of a general strike in the health sector does not arise. He says that he meets with representatives of trade unions in the health care system every day.

“We meet with trade union representatives every day. And this morning I had a meeting with Sanitas. We are trying to find a solution so that the question of a general strike in the health care sector does not arise, and this protest of theirs is a signal for everyone, of course, and for us, that certain problems need to be solved. Those that we can solve now, we will solve in a very short time, others will probably need the approval of new legislation in the field of labor remuneration, which will eliminate certain inequities in labor remuneration. What we discussed at the level of the Ministry of Health, we undertook, namely, the completion of negotiations and the signing of the Collective Agreement, the memorandum on filling vacant positions, and the payment of vacations from a separate fund. which no longer burdens budget hospitals and creates inequalities. All these problems have been solved, we are trying to find a solution for others as well,” said the Minister of Health, quoted by Agerpres, on Wednesday.

According to him, the Japanese strike, which started yesterday by the trade unions of the medical system, is a wake-up call, and the Ministry of Health is trying to find a solution in the current economic context.

“The Japanese strike is a signal from the unions, it is the right of the unions to give us such signals, to protect the rights of union members, but we are trying to find a solution in the economic context in which we find ourselves. . Of course, it’s not just about the Ministry of Health, it’s about the Romanian government and the availability that exists from a financial point of view,” says the Minister of Health.
