The armed robbery took place at dawn at the family home and shop in Nea Ionia.

According to EL.AS sources, shortly after 14:00 three unidentified persons in hoods broke open the balcony door of the apartment on the fourth floor, which they penetrated through the roof of a neighboring house.

Then they broke into the premises and, at gunpoint, immobilized the 78-year-old owner, his wife and their daughter. The robbers forced the old man to give them all the money he had at home, and then took him to the first floor of an apartment building where he runs an auto parts store.

There they again forced him to give them all the money that he had in the safe, and immediately after that they fled.

The ELAS investigation to find and arrest the three perpetrators continues.
