Due to combustible materials in the furniture store, the fire quickly spread to a large extent, as a result of which it was almost completely destroyed.
Damage was also caused to apartments in the apartment building where the store is located, as well as to a car.
Due to the fire, traffic was stopped along Posidonos Avenue from the height of its intersection with Markou Botsari Street on the way to Piraeus.
So far, no casualties have been reported, while a preliminary investigation into the exact causes of the fire is underway. Residents of the apartments of the apartment building in which the store is located were taken out of the apartments through the stairwell.
According to a video broadcast by Mega on Saturday morning, the motorcycle can be seen coming to a stop in front of the building and the driver throwing something towards the store, which immediately started a fire.
