Miltos Lidorikis (1871–1951), Greek eupatrid, theatrical figure, protagonist of the social and political life of old Athens, drew homage. The Melina Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens hosts events dedicated to Athens of the Belle Epoquebased on the book by Miltos Lidorikis “I lived in Belle Epoque Athens” (published by Polaris). It is a memoir that brings to life the daily life of old Athens in a unique way.
The most impressive part of the tribute is the collaboration with Animasyros and the production of an audiovisual product, the result of five animation workshops. These are the products of Animasyros Education, which, thanks to its many years of experience in the development of educational programs, has used a network of animators. The video is a compilation of five audiovisual products created by members of the Creative Learning Centers operated by OPANDA in the Athens area.
As a result of this synergy between OPANDA, the Alecu Lidorikis Archive and Animasyros, the general public will also be able to enjoy a photo exhibition with material from Miltos Lidorikis’s book edited by Matrix Design.
There will also be a musical tribute with Mimi Rufogali on piano and Mina Polichroniou performing a range of songs from Kurt Weill to Atticus. In addition, in collaboration with the Hellenic Institute of Architecture, the tribute will also include four tours of Athens in the month of June led by architect Panagiotis Turnikiotis.
