President Klaus Iohannis will take part on Thursday in the second summit of the European Political Community, which will be organized in the Republic of Moldova, the presidential administration informed.

47 heads of state and government, the president of the European Council, the president of the European Commission and the president of the European Parliament announced their presence at the meeting, which will be held in Mimi Castle, Anenii Noi district.

According to the cited source, by hosting the Summit of the European Political Community, the Republic of Moldova confirms its European vocation and its consistency in implementing the process of reforms necessary for joining the European Union.

The summit program includes a plenary session with the participation of all delegations and working groups, which will take place in parallel and within the framework of which topics related to security, energy and communication will be discussed.

President Klaus Iohannis will support the speech at the plenary session and participate in the working group on security.

During the debate, the head of state will touch upon the urgent issues arising from the consequences of the war of aggression launched by Russia against Ukraine, in the security, economic, food and humanitarian spheres; continuous support of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, coordination of joint efforts in the fight against hybrid threats, from cyber attacks to disinformation and manipulation campaigns; increasing stability and continuing to support vulnerable states in the region, the Presidential Administration showed.

The European Political Community is an intergovernmental format for debate and a platform for political coordination between European states to promote political dialogue and cooperation on issues of common interest to strengthen security, stability and prosperity on the European continent.
