In practice, the Romanian army has double the investment budget compared to those allocated to education, health care and culture combined.
The military procurement frenzy has reached historic heights, spending hundreds of millions of euros on drones and missile systems, F-16 and F-32 aircraft, and maintenance of equipment that must be adapted to the latest technological innovations. In this context, huge funds are also invested in the renewal and expansion of some military units. Last year, MApN directed tens of millions of euros to carry out construction works in military units and barracks throughout the country.
