The head of British diplomacy, James Cleverley, said on Tuesday that Ukraine has the right to strike targets on the territory of Russia for the purpose of self-defense, DPA and Agerpres inform.

“Ukraine has a legal right to defend itself. Of course, it has the legal right to do that within its borders, but it also has the right to send forces beyond its borders to undermine Russia’s ability to deploy forces inside Ukraine,” said Cleverley, a member of the ruling Conservative Party. Great Britain during a press conference with his Estonian counterpart Margus Tsahkna in the capital of Estonia, Tallinn.

“Therefore, legitimate goals outside its own border are part of Ukraine’s self-defense. And we have to admit that,” added James Cleverley.
