
Iga Sviatek (1 WTA) easily qualified for the second round of the Roland Garros tournament, after defeating the Spaniard Cristina Bucha (70 WTA) in two sets with a score of 6-4, 6-0.

The reigning Roland Garros champion had an easy first set against the 25-year-old player, who was born in the Republic of Moldova and settled with her family in Spain.
Bucha managed to lead Svyatek into two rows and tried to keep her balance, but the Pole eventually broke free.
The second set had no history, Iga managed to win with a decisive 6-0.
The game lasted only an hour and 15 minutes.
In the second round, the main favorite of the tournament will meet the winner of the Swiss Ilena In-Albon (149 WTA) and the American Claire Liu (102 WTA).
Iga Sviatek won the Paris Tour twice, in 2020 and 2022.
The Roland Garros tournament takes place from May 28 to June 11, has a total prize pool of 49.6 million euros, and is the 127th tournament. Iga Sviatek and Rafael Nadal (14-time winner in Paris) became the champions of the title.
