  • “So that true democracy and freedom can take place in this country, to get rid of an authoritarian government, I invite all citizens to vote,” Kilicdaroglu said, according to AFP.

He urged people to stay near polling stations after they closed at 5 p.m. “because these elections were held in very difficult conditions.”

  • “Lula all kinds of slander and slander, but I believe in the common sense of citizens.
  • Democracy will definitely come to this country, freedom will come,” he assured his supporters, who gathered in front of the polling station and applauded him on his way out.

End-of-term President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was favored in this unprecedented second round, cast his vote in his district of Uskudar, on the Asian side of Istanbul, accompanied by his wife Emine and in front of a large crowd.

  • “No country in the world registers a participation rate of 90%, Turkey has almost reached them. I ask my fellow citizens to come and vote steadfastly,” said the head of the Turkish state.

According to Erdoğan, since only two candidates are participating in the ballot, the voting “will end quickly.”

In the first round of presidential elections in Turkey, which took place on May 14, participation was 87% of those registered. In the first round on May 14, Erdogan won 49.5% of the vote, and Kilicdaroglu – 44.9%.

Erdogan is expected to arrive in Ankara this evening.
