The General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU) warns about the message sent to people on behalf of the agency regarding the radiation danger in Romania: “This is fake news.”
The IGSU said on Saturday evening that it had been alerted by citizens regarding a message that was being circulated through the WhatsApp application regarding the danger of radiation in Romania and measures for the population in case of radioactive contamination:
- “IGSU clearly dissociates itself from this information, which belongs to the spectrum of fake news!”.
The institution also notes that the contact address of IGSU is not the one indicated in the text of the message, and urges people to be informed only from official sources and to verify data and information received through various communication channels.
