An attack by two drones caused an explosion in Russia’s Pskov region near the border with Belarus that damaged an oil pipeline administration building, local governor Mykhailo Vedernikov said on Telegram on Saturday, Reuters reports.
Vedernikov did not point the finger at Ukraine, but Moscow has previously blamed Kyiv for similar incidents, some of which have caused damage to people and property hundreds of kilometers from the border with Ukraine.
Ukraine has not publicly acknowledged the strikes on targets in Russia, but senior officials in Kyiv have occasionally appeared to welcome news of successful drone strikes on Russian territory.
There were no comments from Ukraine on Saturday.
“The building was temporarily damaged as a result of an attack by two drones,” Vedernikov said.
He noted that there were no victims, an operational group is working on the spot, which will give the final conclusions.
The incident happened near the village of Lytvynovo, less than 10 km from the Russian border with Belarus.
