Mo Salah has apologized to fans for missing out on Liverpool’s Champions League qualification
Shortly after Manchester United thrashed Chelsea 4-1 to mathematically qualify for next season’s Champions League, Mo Salah posted a message on his social media accounts.
“I am absolutely devastated,” the Egyptian began his post.
“There is no excuse. We had everything we needed to qualify, but we couldn’t. At Liverpool, competitive qualification is the minimum required. Sorry, but it’s too early for an optimistic message. We disappointed you and disappointed ourselves,” he concluded hack.
Liverpool, which is in 5th place in the EPL (cannot rise, but will not lose this place), will play away to Southampton in the last stage of the current season (May 28, at 18:30).
Formation at Anfield guarantees participation in the group stage of the Europa League.
I am completely devastated. There is absolutely no justification for this. We had everything we needed to make it to the Champions League next year, but we couldn’t. We are Liverpool and qualifying for the competition is the bare minimum. Sorry, but it’s too early to be upbeat or optimistic… pic.twitter.com/qZmA9WsueM
