
Education unions – on the third day of a general strike – are now announcing the decision after talks at the headquarters of the Federation of Free Trade Unions in Education (FSLI), where Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke did not go but sent four ministers to try to convince professors to return to class.

“It is very clear that a salary increase cannot happen now,” said Marian Neatzu, head of the SGG, Secretary General of the Government, at the end of a day of negotiations, assuring that in the future, with the salary law, other options for salary increases will be found.
He is currently announcing 2,500 lei cards for professors, saying the unions are going to analyze the government’s proposal and give an answer on Thursday morning.
Negotiations with the leaders of the three educational federations began around 17:30, Minister of Education Ligia Deka, Minister of Labor Marius Budai, Minister of Finance Adrian Cachu, Minister of European Funds, Marcel Bolosh and General Secretary of the Government Marian Neatsu were sent to the negotiations.
We will remind, more than 150 thousand teaching workers and more than 70 thousand workers in the category of auxiliary teaching and non-teaching staff announced a general strike from Monday.
