Prime Minister Nicolae Chuke will not attend the discussions to which he was invited by the education unions on Thursday. A “ministerial team” will be sent to the negotiations, which will try to convince the teachers to abandon the strike.
The ministerial team that will go to the negotiations consists of the Secretary General of the Government, the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Education, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of European Funds.
But the proposal will remain the same at the discussions: bonuses for newcomers and teachers from disadvantaged areas.
Otherwise, salary increases will take place due to the new salary law.
“These specific measures cannot be finally resolved under a common denominator. They will need to be implemented in a calendar plan, as provided for in the content of the laws, with a budget, as provided for in the content of the laws, and on a line of dialogue that will be constantly open at the level of the Government and the Ministry with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Department of Education, so that we have a highly effective an education system that provides educational opportunities for everyone. This afternoon, as we will not finish the Cabinet meeting until the time of the meeting, I have ordered the formation of a ministerial team, which will include the Minister of Education, the Minister of Labour, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of European Funds, and the Secretary to the Prime Minister will participate in the General Government. We hope that after this meeting, based on honest and fair dialogue, based on real measures that we propose, we will have an understanding, and we believe in each other that this approach will end as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister said on beginning Government meeting.
