An 85-year-old man and his 54-year-old wife in Nea Ionia experienced moments of anxiety and horror on Tuesday evening (May 23) when two people broke into their apartment on the seventh floor of an apartment building located on st. Sikelyanu street.

The two perpetrators had their facial features covered and threatened the couple with a hammer and scissors. They then locked them in a room and began to search the area, finding around 400 euros, as well as jewelry of unknown monetary value.

After the robbers left, the 85-year-old man and 54-year-old woman notified the police, whose officers went to the scene and began an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
