
A 37-year-old woman from Romania was arrested on Monday morning (22.05) in Petroupolis by members of the Investigation Department of the Attica Security Directorate in connection with the fact that a court decision was pending against her, by which she was sentenced to 18 years in prison and a fine of 50,000 euros for the illegal promotion of foreigners to the Member States of the European Union.
According to EL.AS., the detained woman, along with her accomplices, on her own or rented cars, for a fee, brought third-country nationals from various parts of Athens who did not have the necessary documents to legalize their stay in Greece.
Then they were taken to the port, from where the ships leave for Italy and are sent to the countries of Central and Western Europe.
A 37-year-old man was taken to the prosecutor’s office.
