LeBron James is considering retiring from basketball

Late in Monday’s game against the Denver Nuggets (111-113), an ESPN reporter said (after speaking with LeBron) that the 38-year-old basketball player is considering retiring from basketball.

A few minutes before that, James answered a question about how he sees the next season at the post-match press conference.

“Let’s see what will happen… I don’t know, I don’t know. I have a lot to think about, to be honest. Personally, I have a lot to think about when it comes to basketball” – LeBron James.

The big star of the Californians gave everything on the court in Monday’s game to keep his team in the race and managed to score 40 points, 31 of them in the first half, a new personal best, writes Agerpres.

James said he’s pleased with his playoff evolution after being sidelined for a long stretch of the regular season with a medical issue.

“I think it went well, although I don’t want to say it was a successful year because at this stage of my career I’m only playing to win titles.

I am not satisfied with just being in the conference finals. I did, often. And I’m not happy not to participate in the final of the championship” – LeBron James.

LeBron James has two years left on his contract with the Los Angeles franchise, the last of which is optional. But he has always stated his desire to remain a basketball player at least until he is 40, playing alongside or against his oldest son Bronny.

He will begin his first college season at the University of South Carolina and will be of legal age to potentially be drafted by an NBA team in the 2024-2025 season.
